Abstract

The scope of influence of medical interventions is very complex. In recent times, various formulations were constructed which nonetheless are still problematic. Within the framework of contemporary revaluation of subjectiveness, the authors suggest elements for the articulation of a medicine of the subject. In such a model, evaluation standards point to the trajectory of the vital attitude (TVA), what includes emancipation from pathology, ressignification of metaphoric contents, project of future, and care of oneself. The latter notion has its comprehension relatively undefined but can be approached through Foucault's construction of "technologies of the self". Within the framework of health related practices, the self-understanding of the notion of "subject" includes the meaning of "that who occupies him/herself with the care of oneself", constituting a true anthropological turn in the categories of health - disease ~ well being the epistemic oundation of health theories, methods and practices.
